Winter Flag Football – For Girls Too!
Calling all Winter (Flag Football) Ballers! Flag Star Football is hosting flag football clinics – outside – and ready to roll this Winter. We fear no Mid-Atlantic “Winter!!”
These clinics – for 2nd to 8th grade Co-ED – are sessions of skills, drills and scrimmages. Led by Flag Star coaches. And an awesome way to get some practice, exercise and sunlight (!!) in the Winter months.
Registration is happening now (and closing soon) and we’d love to have some neighborhood kids with us. It’s great “off-season” practice as we gear up for a big Spring! Financial Aid is also available.”
FOLP Fall Clean Up Day
Our beautiful Lafayette-Pointer Park is a cherished meeting ground for Chevy Chase residents. The Friends of Lafayette-Pointer Park (FOLP) maintain the perimeter gardens at the park and are dedicated to improving the park’s functionality and beauty. FOLP is hosting a Lafayette-Pointer Park Fall Clean-Up Day on December 7th and they need your help! We’ll pick up trash, rake leaves, clear brush, cut back bushes, etc.
Here is how YOU can help:
- Show up to the picnic tables near the Rec Center on Saturday, December 7th, anytime from 9am – 12pm
- Stay for 30 minutes or stay for 3 hours
- Bring gardening shears or clippers (if you have them) and gloves
- Rakes and trash bags will be provided
- Service hours provided for students
- Kids are welcome, and everyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
