I will schedule rehearsal days once I have a better idea of numbers.
**We are also adding a Showchoir this year! This is for any 3rd-5th grade student! There is a link to a video on the flyer if you’d like to watch a Showchoir and gage your interest. Students may participate in both if they would like!
Please contact Ms. Gemar with any questions!
Dot Day – 9/15
September also has several fun activities for students and families! This Thursday, September 15th, Lafayette will join millions of kids around the world to celebrate the power of creativity, courage and collaboration inspired by the message in Peter Reynolds’ book “The Dot” and a teacher who started the celebration in 2009. Dot Day is a major celebration every year at Lafayette – Don’t forget to send your kiddos to school in all things dots on Thursday, 9/15.
Hispanic Heritage Month – 9/15 – 10/15
Thursday, September 15th also marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s theme is “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation” by appreciating the community’s history. We will honor the heritage and contributions of the ancestors of American citizens who came from Mexico, Spain, the Caribbean, and South and Central America. As a community, we will celebrate with the HSA hosting an outdoor movie night (Encanto!) on Saturday, 9/24 at 7 pm on the field behind school. Please join us for this family evening.
Here’s to a great Week 3 as students settle into routines, we collect our beginning of the year data, and all of our extra curricular activities start to get rolling!
With love,
Dr. B
