Dear Lafayette Families –
I am writing to share great news – this year’s Capital Improvement Project budget proposed by the Mayor’s office, includes an internal renovation for our building. The proposed renovation includes finishing space in the basement for classrooms to increase the overall capacity of our building and meet our growing enrollment. Thanks to the partnership and hard work of our LSAT team, our capacity needs have been recognized and a plan to address our needs has been shared. The renovation planning and construction is slated to occur in FY20 (October 2019 – September 2020). Please see the attached letter from DCPS for further information. We are in the very early stages, and the DC Council still needs to vote to approve the budget in July. I will share more information as it becomes available.
